The YWCA extends the honor to women whom the community believes exemplify the YWCA’ s mission: eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. This is the fifth annual Women of Distinction event.

Ford is being honored in part for her work on racism issues and her leadership in becoming the first woman to hold the elected position of County Attorney in the history of St. Louis County.
